Free Ultrasound

Once you have a positive pregnancy test, you may want to find out how far along you are.  You may have no idea because this pregnancy took you by surprise.

An ultrasound can accurately determine gestation (weeks of pregnancy).  If you are considering an abortion, it is important to know how many weeks into the pregnancy you are because different procedures are done at different stages of pregnancy.  Also, an ultrasound will determine if you have a viable, uterine pregnancy.  If your pregnancy is not viable, this means that you will probably have a miscarriage soon, and there is no point in having a chemical or surgical abortion, especially considering the cost and risk factors involved.

If you do not have a uterine pregnancy, you could have an “ectopic” pregnancy (where the embryo begins growing in a fallopian tube).  Such a pregnancy is a life-threatening condition that must be promptly addressed by medical professionals.
